Profile in Melbourne
February 21, 2011

It has been roughly 12 months since we have been bringing Profile Porous Ceramic (PPC) into Australia and the results are starting to show. A number of golf and bowls clubs have been incorporating in their turf profiles Eastwood Golf Club, Kingston Heath Golf Club, Mornington Civic Bowls Club and Ivanhoe Bowls Club are just a few. It has been put in to the turf soil profile by the use of the Dryject machines (Turnpoint at Kingston Heath G.C.) completed all 18 holes in Spring last year and will go again this year, also by coring the green and rubbing in traditional method using 10 – 30kg / 100m2 rate (Ringwood G.C., Waterford Valley G.C., Ivanhoe Bowls and Mornington Civic Bowls.). Clubs are also using the PPC for construction using a minimum of 3% by volume and either mixing on site (The Dunes Golf Links) or having it premixed of site through the whole green profile (Eastwood G.C.). PPC has also been used as a top-dress product to help control algae and moss and dry out through our heaviest rainfall period in over 10 years (Chirnside Park C.C.) all the methods used have had great results and are backing up the claims of the products. Rich River Golf Club Resort booked in to complete their 36 holes in August of this year using the Dryject machine.
Sportsturf have done a number of tests for us using the profile for drainage, sieve analysis and nutrient retention all have shown up favourably for using PPC and has not affected the makeup of sand profile given the particle size. PPC has shown to increase drainage, poor space and retain more moisture and nutrients than the control sands tested on including Rocla turf sand and local Dunes sand from the Mornington Peninsula. All of these test results can be seen on our website. We are expecting profile to continue to grow and show good results for use in turf.
